Posted by Kristi on 9/10/08 I don't know exactly how kidercare works but I work for a privately owned center. I started as the head pre-k teacher about three years ago then was the head pre-k teacher and preschool supervisor, then I took over the kindergarten program and stayed the preschool supervisor, and in may was promoted to assistan director/kindergarten teacher. I make $4.00 more now than I did when I started. I still do not make as much as maybe I should or could in a different setting. But there are things that make it worth while regardless of the pay. For sure the experience is great because in order to move into a director position where I am from you have to have so much supervisoring experience. Also, getting the chance to work with all the age groups (infant - kinder) is great and you learn a lot. And also being able to see some of your ideas play out outside of your own classroom throughout the center is great.
