I have waited a decent amount of time to post my thought on
bright horizons after working for them for over a year now. I
also have 5 other years experience working at preschools and
daycares and Bright horizons is by far the worst I have ever
worked for. I spend WAY too much time now doing the many
different kinds of paperwork that they require you to do every
week. I dont think the benefits are all that great and they push
donating money to the shelters and stuff they offer things too
WAY too strongly. I am fine with the walks they do and
everything, but with what they pay me, I can hardley make ends
meet now, I really can't afford to donate any money. Its not
like I dont want to but even if I did have money I wouldnt be
doing it to the places they give it to. One of the posters they
had up was of some 19 year old girl living in a shelter with 3
kids and has been there since she was pregnant with the first
one. Now I seen the shelter she live at and everything in the
video and it looks great and all, but I would not want my money
going to this teen girl that obvisouly can not learn her lesson
on how to not have kids and live off what other people give her.
Our daycare changed from one company to Bright Horizons.. We are
no longer allowed to decorate the documentation boards, but
anything on windows or on the walls. The place now looks like an
institution. I have kids asking if they can put their artwork up
on the wall and have to tell them no because we are not allowed
to. They loved placeing thier work up so thier parents could see
it when they picked them up. I am trying to get through my
education so I can leave this place. I love teaching and kids,
but I HATE working for Bright Horizons.
