Hot off the presses: the November Teachers.Net Gazette....

Re: Setting up Thanks Shari, More questions
    Posted by newbie on 12/09/08

Thanks, Schari, for your reply. I apologize for not responding sooner
as we have been busy closing down our pre school at its present
location to open the one in our home. It's a huge undertaking and by
Saturday after our third wave of sales we will have a better idea of
what we still need to get rid of. Downsizing from two huge classrooms
to one small one is like cleaning out a house after living there for
25 years! It is a very good feeling though to be doing this. It feels
    right.

We haven't had to make any decisions yet on what hours, etc. but I
don't think I will cater to teachers only after considering that
direction. I want to be year round with maybe a two week break unpaid
over the holidays and will make four national holidays as paid and the
    day after Thanksgiving unpaid.

We just finished our second orientation for getting licensed. It was
sort of weird as the other people there were so "overqualified" when
it comes to the expectations of the state. The state is all concerned
about home care owners having an associate's degree when all there had
at least a BA or BS and further education. It would help if the state
would up their expectations if they want the business to be considered
more professional. However, that is the way it is and at least they
    are trying to upgrade.

Anyway after next week hopefully things will slow down somewhat for us
as we close out the one location and move over the rest of what we are
keeping. It sure helps on set up costs to already have everything we
would need. Our problem is having too much. lol

I will get back to you when we firm things up. Again, thanks for your
    advice!

and, no, I was not known at newbie on the other board!
