    Re: Talk, Talk, Talk
Posted by Lori Ann Watson on 8/16/08

Sometimes it really helps if you have a standard attention-
getter in your class. When I needed my students' attention,
I clapped one-two-and-three-four, and they would respond by
clapping one-two. So we ended up with that cute little
rhythm they put at the end to let you know a song or act is
finished. (Does that make sense?) They loved it, and it
    really worked.

I think anything you do that they have a standard group
response to would work well. They just need to know that
anytime they hear you say or clap a set phrase or rhythm,
they are to respond a certain way. It really gets their
attention, and you don't have to talk over them that way. :-
    ) Happy teaching!
