Well sure, there will always be something that just doesn't fit, and
that does need to be tweaked.
What I've seen some teachers do is treat CM like a buffet line - a
little of Love and Logic, a little Wong, a little Cantor. That can
work, but it requires that the teacher actually commit these parts
into a coherent whole. If it doesn't happen, then there's no system
in place.
I've also seen the half-hearted approach - the teacher says, "I use
X" but then slides off the system within week 3 and is surprised when
the students aren't behaving. It takes a real commitment to stick
with a system long enough for the students to learn it.
The commitment is the key - X means X and means X and means X - never
Y, just X.
