Hi Mr. Gripe, Just prior to reading your post, I was reading an online excerpt on amazon. com that relates to what you were saying! I was so surprised to read that you were thinking on the same sort of topic that I had just been considering. You might be interested in having a read.... the author talks about teenage fashion--and adults wanting to be teens rather than adults! Although the excerpt ends just as she's beginning to make the point that TV started it all right after WWII, the author would agree that there's too much MTV! Prior to that time, kids turning 13 wanted to be ADULTS--the term teenager wasn't even invented till 1941. Now we have adults who aspire to be teenagers! Very interesting reading... I've ordered it from the public library.
