TIA,
I've never been a fan of rules (because I find them too 'top
down'), but I think your basic expectations of safety,
respect, and responsibility are great!
If I were writing a set of rules (or one rule) in answer to
an assignment like yours, I would probably have similar
themes, but would try to make them inclusive (as in "We")
and somehow incorporate the joy of learning and community.
In short, I would try to make them reflective of my overall
philosophy and goals rather than being stereotypical rules.
But that's what I would do. As you continue to think about
it, I imagine that the rules you come up with will be
exactly what they need to be. And if you decide to change
them at some point, they will change exactly as they need to
change!
