I discovered that most of the teachers in my school grade the same
way - they mark an "x" on correct answers. If it's incorrect, they
use a slash so that when it is corrected, they have the "x". My
preference is to only mark the incorrect answers. The first time I
returned assignments, I had to explain this several times, even to
parents. It would take a whole lot of time to mark each correct
answer.... don't they tell you to not create work for yourself?
One thing that bugged me to death last year was that when I gave back
the assignments, no one looked at them or even bothered to put them
in the trash. Sometimes, I would spend great time making comments on
the work, so I'm wondering why bother?
