    Well said. Calm and assertive is so powerful. It gives no ground
    to the student to stand against you and keeps you in control of
    common situations. I had the same experience when I first started
    with the calm and assertive persona. I teach band and have the
    same kids for 7 years. The students who behaved the best were the
    students who only knew me as calm and assertive. As time went on,
    they were all on the same page. It's an evolution and not a
    revolution. Anyone who wants to start with this needs to take
    time to develop the persona.
