If you teach middle school or high school, I suggest reading also Fred
Jones' Tools for Teachers. He talks about not nagging students to do
things. I think procedures should be reinforced by having the students
physically practice them, not just talk about them. The body actually
doing something several times over a period of time reinforces in
their mind what to do. And yes, once in a while, the class will forget
and will need to repractice a procedure, especially after like
Christmas break. :)
I teach high school Spanish, with lots of Spanish I classes filled
with lots of 9th grade freshmen, especially immature 9th grade boys.
