Hi. I am a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin- Stout. I currently train busy adults who work in the mental health and social services fields. One area I am always trying to manage is the cell phone distractions during training such as texting, checking email, etc. I have tried the basics and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t! Does anyone have any creative tips for managing this issue in the face to face classroom?

Kristi Try using a backchanneling tool such as Today's Meet to get the adults actively engaged. They can type questions and comments throughout the presentation. You could stop periodically to discuss these. This way since the adults will already have the devises whether it be a computer, iPad or cell phone you can manage what they are doing on their devi...See More
