    Dear Dedicated Teachers,

I do feel that technology should be taught at schools,
starting from the earliest age possible. I am currently a
teacher in an low income (Title 1) school. Many of my
students do not have computer access at home, thus they must
rely on our school for technology support. Since these
students are college bound, they need to know how to use a
computer and how to type. It is much more beneficial to
have them as early as possible because the older these
students get, the more difficult it will be teach them how
to type. My school doesn't offer a technology class where
keyboarding is taught. I am a Science teacher, but I do try
to visit the computer lab as much as possible. We also have
two portable carts filled with about 40 laptops donated by
Northrop Grumman. I try to check these carts out as much as
possible in order to expose my students to keyboarding and
    internet research.

    From, Dedicated Hawaiian Transplant
    Los Angeles County Teacher.
