I think that this is pretty standard for computer teachers. Even if school districts have a curriculum, you are rarely given materials to help implement it. If your district has a curriculum then follow it and make sure that you touch upon everything that you are supposed to cover. If your district doesn't have a curriculum, look to your state and/or national standards. I think it does help to work in units. I covered keyboarding and word processing at the beginning of the year, then databases, slideshows and now spreadsheets. Another place you can look for direction in your lessons is the classroom teachers. You may be able to find materials that will supplement what they are doing in the classroom. There are lots of great ideas you can find on the Internet. I also have books that I use as reference. Hang in there!
