If you want to teach at the high school level, the computer application courses tend to be under the business department and the computer programming classes are either in Math or sometimes in the Technology department (if there is one). Business certification can be tricky to obtain because it encompasses more than just computer applications. If you want to become a high school computer science teacher, you usually need a computer science or mathematics degree.
