Post: FYI: Portaportal

If you use a lot of websites with your classes and hate
having so much time spent on actually GETTING the students
to the site, here's one solution. Go to the website
www.portaportal.com and register/set up a free account.
It's a website for listing tons of other website URLs so
that all you have to do is make Portaportal a favorite and
all your other links are stored there. The instructions are
very user-friendly as well!
Anyone can create an account. At our school, about all of
our teachers have a Portaportal account but 90% of them use
mine most of the time. The kids only have to know the user
name to log in (no password required unless you make
changes to the site). This allows only yourself or a chosen
few to be able to make changes.
I have had mine for about 4 years and have over 90,000
hits! It's also great for parents who may be a little
nervous about their children being on the Internet to check
out ALL the websites I use for the entire school year. For
lessons, after students log in, I just have to tell them
with category to click on and which link. No more wasting
valuable class time just getting to the site.
If you'd like to check out my Portaportal account to see
what it looks like, the user name is CLYMORE (not case
sensitive) and click LOG IN. Enjoy!
