    Post: Need Ideas for Keyboarding

Posted by Ms. M on 9/03/08

I have a small (4 students) keyboarding class. It is
comprised of two seniors (one never passed the 9th grade
keyboarding class and one is a transfer from a private
school and needs the credit), one junior (can type very
well, but due to lack of motivation did not pass the 9th
grade keyboarding class), and one traditional 9th grade
student. This is a 45 minute class. I am using the
Century 21 keyboarding text. The class seems to drag.
The activities that I use for the 9th grade keyboarding
classes seem too young for the older students in this
class. Two of the four have pretty good speed, so using
typing games and tests to improve their speed seems
redundant. Any ideas on how I can make this class more
interesting and worthwhile for these students? Any ideas
    would be appreciated!
