    Re: Middle School Transition Activities
Posted by Maude Bryeans on 7/31/08

The best activity we have been doing at our transition Camp is a
Scavenger Hunt around the building. We give the students a list
of room numbers, have them pair up with a partner, and review the
hall rules they have been taught. Following this they go out to
locate the rooms in differnt parts of the building and discover a
hidden message from each of the rooms. We list about thirty rooms
and if you are caught breaking hall rules you are sent to
detention. This works lots better than the old tours we use to do
the kids really learn their way around the school. It usually
takes about an hour. We have a large middle school with about
1200 studetns and there are about 300 each time we do this camp.
