Posted by jackie on 6/27/08 i, like many college students out there dont know what career path i want to pursue. nonetheless, counseling is something that i have always thought about and have had a general passionate interest in. im that person who thinks way too much about my future (living comfortably, school debt...) so i shun the idea of going to school for so long because of all the horror stories i hear about the debt associated with getting a masters and low salaries to start. That being said-if anyone out there has a minute, please share any advice. How great is the debt graduating with a M.S. (particulary for counseling)? where do you start upon graduating? what experience do you need before you can actually work as a counselor? is the salary comfortable? this is lengthy, i know-but i thought i would give it a try.
