    Post: HS Counseling
    Posted by: Lacey on 6/23/09

I have an interview at the HS level next week. My
practicum, internship, and 2.5 month interim position were
all at the elementary level. Now, I realize I should have
taken advantage of my internship hours to gain experience
at other levels, but I can't change that now. I need to
familiarize myself with the differences in school counselor
duties between elementary and high school.

I would appreciate job descriptions from HS counselors,
suggestions, website suggestions...anything you think might
help with a HS counselor interview. I am not familiar with
the non-counseling duties such as college/career/SAT prep,
scheduling, ect. Also, what are some special programs or
unique things you do as a HS counselor?

    Thanks!
