I am in Texas and it is a state requirement in most districts
that you have at least 3 years of successful teaching behind you.
Additionally there are universities who are CACREP, nationally
accredited, which means your area of study/internship/practicum
will be far more stringent. I graduated from one such
university and my intern/pract was 3 semesters b/c I worked
full time as a teacher and the hours required for it were 750.
In the meantime I have learned that some only had to earn 100,
150 or 300 as opposed to my 750.
There are many things to be considered.
Feel free to contact me should you require clarification etc.
Best of luck to you!
