Re: HAVE YOU FILLED A BUCKET TODAY?
Posted by: Gail on 9/28/09
I used this book with second and third grade last year.
First I showed them a paper with a picture of the bucket
from the book and the words "Have you Filled a Bucket Today.
No Dipping Allowed". I asked if they had any ideas what that
meant. They came up with all sorts of ideas.
Then I read the book (with much discussion all through the
reading). I then passed out a paper with a BIG bucket on it
to each child. The wrote their name on the paper and then
passed it to the person next to them. In short...each child
passed their paper around the room and each child wrote
a "bucket filler" on the paper. We then discussed how it felt
giving and receiving the "bucket fillers"
Do you know they have a website with lessons and ideas for
the book? Go to:
