Unfortunately we can not make children talk to us but maybe
you can break the ice by having him come down with a group of
children. This way you can get to know each other and take
the pressure off your student. Lunch is a great time to go
around and share what they did over the weekend, or
whatever. Have them play a game together, maybe if this
child sees how the other children respond to you he will feel
better too.
