Going on job interview next week for an elementary school counselor position. Im currently working as one now, but I have been here 5 years and I have not grown nor am I pleased with my school duties. Plus I just got a new principal (they have been there about 2.5 months).

During the interview I know they will ask me the million dollar question...so why are you wanting to leave your current school? Im trying to think of an appropriate answer that lets them know that I am ready to move on, without making it seem bad to my school at the same time.

I really would like this new job, and any advice is welcome. Ive done teacher interviews before and I know they will want to know why I'm leaving.

Please help.

Just some thoughts: Is the new school closer to where you live? Is it more progressive? Would the new school require different school dut...See More
