I'm a teacher and I can't bear to see what my 16-y-o daughter just went through and I want to guide her in the right direction without being overbearing. She was invited to visit her new boyfriend at the beach for a day while he was on vacation for 8 days with mixed-gender friends she didn't know. She's typically shy. After the beach day (which included his family and sibs) he told her to go home because he was tired and wanted to shower. In the 1.5 hours that it took for me to get there, she realized he was planning to go out to the boardwalk with his friends all night, and she was not welcome. She's never been to the boardwalk before, and thought that since he was with his friends all week, he'd be thrilled to see her, and would give her a few hours of his time.
