Post: Responsive Classroom with 6-8 graders?

    Posted by J on 9/01/08

I am a new teacher and will be teaching K-8 art. Have any
of you successfully used the Responsive Classroom (RC)
technique of "Take a break" with 6th-8th graders? Or will
they think it is just a joke?

I learned RC from my cooperating teacher while student
teaching k-5 and it worked so well. Keep in mind, RC was
used school-wide there and I might be the only one trying to
    use it at my school.

What are my chances of success? I get each class 2x per
week for a total of 80 minutes per week so I think they
should remember my signals, etc, pretty well from class to
    class.
