Post: STEALING!!!!
Posted by: Mrs. H on 11/02/09
I have 25 2nd graders. I have 2 kids that steal on a
regular basis. One of them is no longer allowed to have a
backpack at school because he was stealing from his daycare
on a daily basis (little toys). His mom even caught him
stealing at a gas station store. He has taken food from
other children's lunches, so now they stay at my desk. I've
found him with money that he stole from his mom more than
once. Now I have to check his pockets daily. He is in a
community services program and will be in a special
counseling group in my school. This child has also been
suspended this year for stealing.
There is another student that looks into student desks, and
will try to be sneaky and crawl around the room during
whole group lessons.
I've told all of my kids to not bring anything from home
because IT WILL be stolen.
Now, I have found out that at least 3 other kids have taken
some of my coins that we use for math. This includes our
fake coins.
I recently had parent conferences and can't believe that
this stealing continues.
I'm so frustrated. I know that a lot of these kids have
some huge issues at home, but this behavior is not
acceptable.
