Post: How was your year?

I realize not all of you might be finished yet. (My last
day isn't until next Friday.) However, I've been spending
quite a bit of time reviewing my year and thinking of some
changes for next year. Today we visited another preschool
and that is always fun and a great way to get new ideas.
I have had an awesome year! I'd say in my 9 years of
teaching, this has been by far my easiest. I teach 3 year
olds MWF 9:30 - 12:30 and 2 year olds 9 - 11:30 on
Thursdays. All of my 2 year olds will be moving up to my
3's class! This year has just flown, and I know it has to
do a lot with having such dream classes.
Some possible changes for next year:
More journaling.
A different class helper system.
More Spanish.
Better use of our assistant. (Our current asst. is
retiring, and it's a good thing. She just doesn't fit in
with our philosophy. My 2's assistant, who is WONDERFUL,
will be now assisting in my 3's class as well. I am so
excited!)
Oh, there will be more changes. There always is.
So, how did things go this year for you? Any ideas for
next year?
