    Not scary at all! I have the items from the story (hat,
    gloves, shoes...) that we put up on the magnetic board and
    before I read the last page I have them guess what the little
    old lady saw (a scarecrow). Another thing you could do would
    be to bring in real items and have the kids stand in front of
    the class holding the items. You could have them stuff a
    real scarecrow (with newspapers) too. The cookies are a cute
    idea too!
