Re: Anyone still teach The Chocolate War?
Posted by Moe on 2/17/08

I will not teach that bookÑever. While the book accurately captures
the brutality often found in high schools, opting to include "The
Chocolate War" in the curriculum is a perfect invitation for life to
imitate artÑand Columbine, et. al. have shown just how efficient kids
today are at imitating what they learn elsewhere.
Funny, I have no problem with "Lord of the Flies,"1984," or Brave
    New World."
