Re: Grades

I posted on this before but didn't get any feedback.
We use Zangle. I weight assignments, but it appears that as the
year progresses, the weighting is skewed because the number of
possible points increases. 20% of 100 points is worth more than
20% of 1,000 points. Right? So the September essay appears to
be worth more than the December one.
My husband, a former research scientist who taught statistics
at a UC, refused to spend more than an hour trying to figure
out how to rework it. He said I should do the calculations
myself and and input them into Zangle. If I could do that, I'd
be a math teacher.
I ended up weighting everything at 1 and making the most
important assignments worth the most points. An essay is worth
50 points, worksheet 15, etc.
I'm holding my breath in fear that a dedicated parent with
serious math skills will call me on this.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
