That's a really cool idea. My Gothic Lit. class includes Dracula, Jekyll
and Hyde, and Frankenstein. They're all semester-length classes, so that's
about all we can handle.
And yes, I definitely realize how lucky I am. Due an unusual situation, our
school was largely restaffed after my first year there, making me the sixth-
most-senior member of the staff. Our new principal decided after my second
year there that I was qualified to rewrite the entire high school English
curriculum, so I pretty much changed all the course offerings, and he was
fine with that. I'm now going into my fourth year and still making minor
adjustments, but I think the principal's gamble has paid off - my kids are
really excited to schedule their English classes, and I'm excited to teach
them.
