I teach online classes for my community college, and periodically I'll
have teachers getting recertified, keeping license, or picking up
another teaching area.

I've taught Am. Lit. survey courses in the past, at the sophomore
level, and teachers would take those classes.

So, check the requirements, if it works, then check with the local
community college.
