Re: Is ESL A Shortage Area?
Posted by Michigan to California on 7/02/08

Hello All! I have posted this on the California
    chatboard..and then I noticed the ESL/EFL chatboard ..:)

I am a California native ready to come back after many years from
Detroit- probably next year. I have K-12 Spanish (major) and
    7-12 English
degree (I teach elementary Spanish in a charter school in
    Detroit) and am
in the process of going back for my masters...I am trying to
    figure what
would make me more marketable..Michigan is really tough right
    now. My
question: is there a high demand for "ELD" teachers in
    California? I ask
because I heard that many districts are moving away from ELD
programs...hopefully that is incorrect. Thank you for any info :)
