What state are you in? Find out what your state requires for ELL certification - many states have very specific requirements regarding the coursework you need. Be aware that some coursework that might appear to be appropriate for teaching ELD or ELL is not accepted towards certification for teaching ELL in public schools, but rather only for teaching adults or teaching abroad, at least in some states (TESOL is one example).
