regarding the advantage of working close to home, I did that
for a number of years and loved it (now I commute 30 miles
each way, or 45 minutes). My duaghter attended the
elementary school where I taught, which I loved. I often
ran into students outside of school - i liked that /c I got
to meet/interact with the parents, which often doesn't
happen in ESL land.
anyway, curious what you decided to do.
