Re: ESL paperwork
Posted by Sonia on 5/16/08

I've never been a classroom teacher, I've always been an ESL
teacher, so I can't give a fair comparison, but I can say
that from what I've seen, the paperwork classroom teachers do
is much more than what I personally do. I do have my fair
share, but it is all focused on my subject, not a pile of
papers for math, math scores, math timed tests, regular
homework paperwork etc. plus another set for reading, plus
another set for another subject...my paperwork is this:
I have one file for each student. In each file is a copy of
all test scores (we are a reading first school so we have
plenty of those), the English Language Assessment scores, the
I-ELDA scores, ITBS, ITED etc. I also have to keep track of
all kids on transition status, for 2 years. I'm sure each
state is different, but in Iowa, that's what I have.
