Post: Think about-post card project

Last year my middle school ELL students and I participated
in a 50 state post card project. It was a great learning
experience but many of the classes were very young, K--2nd
grade. My students wanted a group with older students so
I am trying to organize one this year (2008/09) for 4-8th
grade.
I am not sure if teachers on this chatboard would go to
the postcard chatboard.
It took my students about 5 class periods, 2 in the
computer lab learning about our state, then 2 more typing
up the info they decided on and then one last class was
spent putting the labels with our info and the address
stickers on 49 post cards. Of course, we spent parts of
other classes reading the post cards that came from other
states and learning a little bit about them.
Please think about and let me know if anyone of you have
upper elem or middle school students and are interested.
