Have you used any assessments to determine their strengths
and weaknesses? Identify the areas that are holding them
back - hopefully you will find commonalities and can group
students according to need. Focus on their weak areas. If
they speak English fairly well, the weak areas that you focus
on might be writing skills, academic vocabulary taken from
content area lessons, etc. Something is keeping them in the
ESL program... find out what it is and work on that with
them. (If your students have NO weak areas to focus on, they
should be exited from ESL.)
If you can identify their needs more specifically, you might
get more specific suggestions from posters here regarding
curriculum or activities.
