Re: student loan forgiveness

I sent a message to the person you recommended. The link you gave didn't
work but I found a way. This link is

    I sent the following message:
I am a 44 year old woman. I work in an Alternative School for the school
system. We have students that are kicked out of the regular schools for 6
weeks up to a whole year because of something they did that was zero
tolerance. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but it really upsets me that I
can't get my student loans forgiven because I decided to start my education
before October 1, 1998. I teach in the lowest paid district in the state of
Tennessee. I am certified Special Ed certified, Regular Ed certified, and
have a Master's Degree plus hours towards my doctorate. I have a brain
tumor yet I drive 40 miles one way everyday because I love working with high-
risk children. It is getting harder to work because of my low wages and my
high medicals expenses. I don't want to quit. I meet all 3 of the
requirements for the loan forgiveness but I had an existing loan (not in
default) so I don't qualify. I have deferred my loans several times but that
is only going to last for so long. We, as teachers, get paid a lot lower
than someone else would go through as much college as we do. Can you help
    us?
