I get ceramic tiles from Lowes and have students make a
thumbprint Christmas tree.. all odd numbers (math lesson)..7
on the base, then 5, then 3. then 1... (think of a pyramid),,
add a brown thumbprint base, a few dots of other color for
lights, sign with a gold or silver paint pen with the year,
spray on sealer (another science lesson about transparency)
and wah-lah.. gift.. all under $20 since I beg at Lowes and
the paint keeps from year to year. Students bring in wrapping
paper and tags.
