I reached out to a couple of my troublemakers and invited them up
after school to help me decorate my class Christmas tree... and
yet a few others who don't really participate in class or talk
too much -- to decorate my windows! Wow! They had a blast, they
enjoyed their time with me, and I learned so much about them. I
also sit and have lunch with them every so often... not because I
have to, but because I want to, or I feel they need me. It
doesn't work with all of them, but I have 65 students pass
through my door each day... It works for all but 3 or 4... That's
a number I can live with.

You'll be amazed at what you learn when you just let them "help"
    you out.
