Post: Managing large classes
I am a Specials teacher (Spanish). This year, our 4th grade
classes have jumped to 32 students. Previously, there were
about 24 in each class. I am struggling with this change
because it is difficult to get (and keep) their attention.
I try to do a variety of activities in my classes such as
games, worksheets, stories, group activities, and projects.
Some work better than others, but overall, I am
discouraged. If any of you have classes this size, can you
offer some tips and advice? I only see them once a week for
45 minutes, so there isn't a lot of time.
