I've been toying around with the idea of doing this with my
students this year. When students learn to manipulate data,
they develop a real-world appreciation for the importance of
    properly interpreting graphics/charts/pictographs in
math/science, etc. problems. I'd be interested in hearing what
all you include in your data books.
