I will be having a baby in December. I was talking to a union person today and she said that because I have still not passed my CST, they could get rid of me while out on maternity leave!! I had never thought of that! I have been teaching since Sept.99 7th grade French have had 2 extenions, have had to get certified in another state and exhange it for NYS reciprocity agreement and now I hold a conditional initial certificate which expires August 2009. I was under the old requirements of provisional and permanent but now I lost that and my conditional would become professional and I would have to have 175hrs of professional development every 5 yrs. I am really terrified! I have to think about my baby's health and not this crap about losing my job. I am taking the test May 31st, I am pretty good with the culture but if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Merci!
