Posted by Andrew on 6/05/08 Salut Joy: Of the 6 French teachers in my district, 3 of us have, "les arrivees". Nearly everyday there is a warmup on the board/overhead. It could be vocabulary/grammar/verb reviews that we are currently learning or things from a while ago. We haven't had an arrivee for the past two weeks however just because of how hectic this time of year is... The students write "le jour de la semaine"; and "le mois" and answer the question from the arrivee. We make them worth 10 points for 10 arrivee blocks on a sheet of paper. If students are absent, they get it from a peer. We count them as participation points. Normally they don't take longer than 20 seconds to figure out but it does provide enough silent individual time to take attendance. If I'm checking homework, I have a longer arrivee.
