Hello!
I am a 4th year French teacher who just got a new job. I
previously had my own classroom but now I have a job
teaching from a cart(elementary) where I am in on other
classes. I have a mentor who has taught for 30 years but
she is not my subject area, so I have the teacher who
previously had my position (she was moved to middleschool)
to also be my "unofficial mentor" - she has about 7 years
experience. Well, this morning, I was approached by
my "official" mentor who stated that she had "ran into"
my "unofficial" mentor and asked for to schedule time with
me (good, I like that)AND that she come to my school and
teach one of my classes and have me observe. What do you
think about that?? I really thought I was doing a good
job - I have been really been trying to communicate to the
classroom teachers about what they want in their
classrooms...it bugs me that she wants me to observe..not
because I am not open to learning new things...I just feel
weird...what do you think??
Thanks :)
