Hello French teachers!
Movie posters are one of my favorite forms of realia because:
-They are authentic
-They come out every week, so there is always something new
-Usually they contain plays on words, so the language is rich
-The language contained on them is highly contextualized
(ie. it is a mainly visual medium)
-Students generally find them interesting
I'm looking for ideas for classroom tasks to accompany the
posters. For instance, one activity I've done is to have
students match up a synopsis of the film to the poster. Or
another to have students identify words they already know or
cognates.
Can you guys think of some other classroom activities to do
with these super cool items of realia? I'd love to hear
your ideas! I've linked to this week's movie posters below.
