He just became too stressed and low to continue in his post. The doctor signed him off for three weeks, which left him with one day to actually work, but he had so many holidays still owed, that he took one of those. Two weeks ago, he popped in at the weekend to drop off cakes and messages. Not one person has contacted him, not one. No wonder he was unhappy there.

I want to shake the lot of them - for not noticing that he was so unwell, for not thanking him for the gifts and messages, for not appreciating his kindness and gentleness, or his thoroughness, for not seeing what a great listener he was - he told me so many stories about the sad things happening in other people's lives and was so sympathetic and constructive about them all. He never has a bad word to say about anyone, and he is funny! He did so much else too - as a health and safety advisor, a first aider, running the 100 club. Aaaargh!

Alison/Aus ((((((((((((Novel and LT)))))))))))) Oh how horrible. Hopefully he can take the time to destress and have the best possible response to that situation by absolutely flying from here on in.

My husband turned 60 last month. 2 days later they called him in and said "thank you for 28 years of service, but we now longer need you." So...See More

Bev Well. Congratulations to him in the long run. It's difficult when one is not recognized for one's contributions. Something I suppose his co-workers will notice once he's gone very long term.

But. After the initial sting has worn off, hopefully he will move on. And find something more meaningful to do.

Moving on is a good thing. I...See More
