I usually make sure that all words are spelled right! Joke.
But the kids will see that and my middle schoolers do not let
    it go!
I teach puberty for about two days. My class time is about 40
minutes per class and that only leaves me around 30 minutes or
    true instruction.
    I do this...
Make a transparency or power point presentation of the stages
of change of male then a separate one for female. Depending
on your situation you may want to separate the males and
females and see if other teachers or media center can help you
by taking the other children. Check with a local hospital or
doctors office to see if you can get a MD to give part of a
presentation and help answer questions that students might
have. I try to get a male Doctor for the boys and female
doctor for the girls. Figure out the stages by researching
them and break it down. A good independent study is to have
student's write a story about a make believe person who is
transitioning from adolescents to adult hood and have them
incorporate the different changes and stages that the person
will go through. Let the students be creative and allow them
to tell a story and explore different experiences that might
happen when the character is moving through the change.
