1)State Board of Education
2)State Department of Education
3)Social Services
I would be careful. "Abuse" is a term thrown around freely,
and I have seen some careers end prematurely because of a few
who merely did not like the teacher. Schools are very
sensitive to any allegations of abuse, they probably have
investigated the issue and are dealing with as you say. Have
you actually witnessed these claims of abuse? If not, then
you are merely acting on a rumor.
I have seen softies call tough love and good class room
management "abuse." In 20 years of teaching I have seen
several cases of physical abuse by parents and have reported
such. My daughter has a classmate who comes to school beat-
up. Nobody saw the wounds, but the student showed my daughter
and shared with her the story. We called the counselor and
reported it...last week. One case of abuse I reported
resulted in the parent being kicked-out of the Army...yes, in
some ways I "ruined" the guys life, but I have a problem when
a big tough adult hits a kid so hard that it drives a tooth
through the cheek. Point is...make sure you can substantiate
your claims. You really can mess with a persons' life, so be
sure you know what you are talking about.
